Healthy Recipes for Kids
We all know that children can be picky eaters. It can be extremely difficult at times to provide a meal they actually like and want to eat. However, many of us don’t know how or have the time to make a proper meal for their little ones. Here are two quick and simple beef recipes your child will love while providing them with the nutrition they need.
Beef stroganoff is an easy and nutritious meal to make for your little ones. This dish will offer protein, vegetables and a little bit of carbohydrates to keep them full and satisfied. In about 30 minutes you can serve your child a delicious healthy meal that will be greatly enjoyed.
What you’ll need:
- 500g lean rump steak cut into cubes or strips
- 1 onion
- 1 ½ cans of sliced mushrooms
- 2 tbsp of sour cream
- 1 packet of beef stroganoff recipe base
Place meat, onions and mushrooms in a heated frying pan for 2 minutes. Add 1 cup of water with the packet of beef stroganoff recipe base. Bring mixture to a boil then allow everything to sit for 20 minutes or until the steak looks done. Stir sour cream into the mixture to make a creamy sauce.
Serve with pasta shapes or rice along with another favourite vegetable such as carrots or green beans.
Another Healthy recipe your child will love is miniature meatloaves. These individual meatloaves are perfect for kids and are satisfying as well as nutritious.
What you’ll need:
- 500g minced beef
- 1 egg
- ½ cup grated cheese
- ½ tablespoon of salt & pepper
- ½ cup of breadcrumbs
Set your oven at 200 C and mix all ingredients into a bowl. Fill a muffin or cupcake pan with the meat mixture. Bake for 20 minutes. Add ketchup or tomato sauce and sprinkle shredded cheese on top. Place back in the oven until the cheese is melted which takes about 2 minutes. Serve with a salad or vegetable of their choice and mashed potatoes if desired. This is a healthy meal your little one will love.
