Spicy or Sweet?

Today we’re heating things up and getting a little spicy with a delicious recipe for Buffalo wings. But don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about those of you who don’t like the heat! We’ve also included something a little sweeter with one of our other favourites, honey soy chicken wings.

Buffalo Wings

Ingredients (to serve 4):

  • 20 chicken wings
  • 125g butter, melted
  • 7 tablespoons Tabasco sauce
  • 3/4 cup pureed tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper


  1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius
  2. Roast the wings on a baking tray for 30 minutes, or until cooked through and crispy.
  3. Meanwhile, in a small bowl combine melted butter, Tabasco sauce, pureed tomatoes, chilli powder and cayenne pepper.
  4. Dip cooked wings in sauce to coat well and return coated wings to baking tray. Reduce oven temperature to 120 degrees Celsius and bake for another 15 minutes until done.

Honey Soy Wings

Ingredients (to serve 4):

  • 1 kg chicken wings
  • 1/3 cup kecap manis
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed


  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius and lightly grease a roasting pan.
  2. Combine kecap manis, honey and garlic in a bowl. Add chicken and toss to coat.
  3. Arrange chicken in roasting pan in a single layer and roast for 25 minutes or until crisp and cooked through.

So there you have it, something for spicy lovers and something for sweet lovers.  Both these recipes are extremely quick and easy and won’t cost much to make. Serve these delectable wings at a party and we promise you’ll be left with two clean platters!
